German carmaker Audi presented the all-new A3 3-door hatchback at the Motor Show that took place in March in Geneva. It is now about time to see some more action in the range of its premium compact model. Apparently, the carmaker will present the new version they were working on for the last few months, the Sportback mode. This new achievement will be presented during the upcoming 2012 Paris Motor Show that will take place before the end of next month. Unfortunately, the German carmaker did not reveal any official photos, but according some spy shots revealed not long ago, the new Audi A3 Sportback will have a similar styling with the current model on the market.
When it comes to power, the Audi engineers prepared quite a complex engine lineup that will also be shared with the 2012 Audi A3 3-door hatch. To be more precise, this line-up includes different turbocharged gasoline and diesel engines. In this category the new Audi A3 Sportback will be available with a 1.8-liter TFSI unit capable of developing 178 horsepower and with a 2.0-liter TDI capable of producing 148 horsepower. As an option, the German specialists also provide the Audi Quattro all-wheel drive system and to send the power to the wheels, they use a double clutch automatic transmission. This is not all.
This year, the carmaker will add at least one more model to the A3 range. We are talking about the sedan model of the range, the first one ever, actually. There is nothing for sure, so there is no way of telling whether the carmaker will present it at the 2012 Paris Motor Show as well or at a later date, maybe in November at the Los Angeles Auto Show. These are all the information available on the Audi A3 Sportback until now.
