The German BMW 1 Series hatchback, the 3-door version, to be more precise, will get the intelligent xDrive four-wheel drive technology. Now, the first models to receive an AWD system are the first two versions of the 1 Series. To be more precise, we are talking about the BMW 120 xDrive and the BMW M135i xDrive. Of course, this is not all the carmaker has to offer. The specialists announced some new elements as well for the 1 Series model range.
One of them is the BMW 114i, a model powered by a 4-cylinder petrol engine capable of developing 102 horsepower. The 116d Efficiant Dynamic Edition is another one. This one produces 116 horsepower and the CO2 emission level is only 99 g/km. With the exception of these ones mentioned above, all 2013 BMW 1-series hatchbacks send the power to the wheels through the 8-speed automatic transmission offered as option. The German carmaker also offers the Auto Start/Stop function on all versions of the 1 Series.
The ECO PRO mode features the Efficient Dynamic technology package. Unfortunately these are all the details available so far. The price for the AWD system developed for the BMW 1 Series hatchback was no made public so far.
