BMW M6 Coupe

The German BMW M6 coupe model follows the M6 convertible and the M5 sedan, and it is now available in US dealerships. The model is powered by a 4.4-liter V8 engine capable of producing 560 horsepower and 680 Nm of torque. The engineers have offered a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission to transfer the output to the rear wheels and a 6-speed one as an option for the North American customers. The new M6 coupe is now more powerful, athletic and more efficient than ever before and not to mention luxurious. The M6 is an ultra-high-performance sports car with incredible dynamic abilities which have been carefully tuned by M engineers on racetracks around the world under all conditions.

Not only it has the highest output eve generated by a BMW M car, but it also has incredible fuel consumption and it is capable of high performance. The model features both Brake Energy Regeneration and the Auto Start-Stop function. This last one automatically switches off the engine when the driver stops the car. The model is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 4.1 seconds and of reaching an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. The output was increased by 10% and the maximum torque by 30%. Comfort is further enhanced by the new Low Speed Assistance function; this smoothes power delivery in stop-and-go traffic, with only a light touch of the accelerator pedal. The Active M Differential in the new M6 is an electronically controlled multi-plate limited-slip differential programmed to optimize traction and sporting character. All components in the chassis and suspension of the new BMW M6 coupe have been developed based on the extensive race expertise of BMW M engineers. This is the first car in the history of BMW M to be offered with optional M Carbon-Ceramic brakes. This system can be easily identified through the wheels by the special gold-colored calipers.

The roof of the BMW M6 Coupe is molded from natural Carbon Fiber Composite. Because the engineers use a lot of lightweight material for the roof, the center of gravity was lowered, enhancing agility. Image Creditautoblog
