Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG by Brabus

At the Essen Motor Show that will soon start, aftermarket specialists from Brabus have developed a tuning package for the 2012 Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG. Before the modifications, the standard 5.5-liter V8 bi-turbo engine was capable of generating 518 horsepower and 516 lb. ft. of torque. After the make-over, the new SUV was capable of generating 611 horsepower and 604 lb. ft. of torque. This new output actually enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds and to reach an electronically limited top speed of 186 mph.

To transfer all the output to the road, the engineers have provided a 23-inch wheel set for the incredible WIDESTAR wide-body version. The engine tuning kit is available in various versions for vehicles with or without AMG performance package and comes with a 3-year warranty or up to 100.000 km. The modification actually includes the integration of a plug and play Brabus PowerXtra module into the engine electronics. This moderates power yield. The highlight of the car is a stainless-steel Brabus sport exhaust system with butterfly valve which features two ceramics-coated design exhaust embellishers for an even more striking rear appearance. Brabus designers have managed to develop an additional spoiler for the production fascia which is made from carbon fiber and reduces lift on the front axle. There is also a rear spoiler available.

There is a special control module developed by the tuner for the AIRMATIC air suspension of the Mercedes-Benz ML 63 AMG that lowers the ride height of the new high-performance SUV. This also lowers the center of gravity and so, it improves handling. As part of the program, Brabus also offers a speedometer with 225 mph dial. These are all the details available on the model so far. For sure more will be revealed on the 9th of December.
