Opel carmaker tries to recreate the success of the 500 model developed by Fiat in several ways. For example, the engineers managed to create a new urban-chic small car called Adam. We do not know if it was intentionally or not, but the founder of the company is named Adam Opel. At a close look, you can see some similarities between the 500 and the Adam, especially at the back, according to the readers. The designers of the Adam replace the trend for retro-based design with a fresh and bold look. The model reaches the needs of open-minded individuals that want something distinctive and striking. This is what Opel declared. In terms of new features, you should know the model receives a top-of-the-range infotainment system with a 7-inch color screen that can support new media sources like Bluetooth, but also connectivity for smart-phones with Android or Apple iOS software. As optional features, the carmaker provides heated steering wheel and LED-lit starlight roof trim. The list of new elements continues with the Advanced Park Assist II System that is capable of searching for a parking space large enough to accommodate the car on the road. At only a touch of a button steers the car into the spot and the driver only controls the brake, gears and the clutch. In terms of standard equipment, the Opel Adam will be equipped with front, side and head curtain airbags, but also dual seat belt for the front occupants and so on. The platform the carmaker used was borrowed from the Corsa SCCS. When it comes to power-trains, the carmaker offers three ecoFLEX 4-cylinder petrol engine choices. The first one is a 1.2-liter capable of developing 69 horsepower, then there are two 1.4-liter engine with an 86 horsepower output or 99 horsepower. No matter the one you choose, all send the power to the wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The ones interested can even get Start & Stop technology. The Opel Adam will have its first official public display in September at the Paris motor Show.
