Renault Clio RS 4

French carmaker Renault revealed the new forth-generation Clio RS last month at the Motor Show held in Paris. Apparently, the specialists are now working on a race model in the UK for the 2014 motor racing season. Apparently, testing begun in August, and the model has so far covered around 3.500 km at a variety of French circuits. In the end, the specialists have observed the model is one second per lap faster than the existing normally-aspirated 2.0-liter Clio Cup car. The new Renault Clio RS race car is powered by a 1.6-liter turbo engine modified by Oreca Magny-Cours and it is capable of generating 220 horsepower and 270 Nm of torque.

It can produce 23 horsepower and 30 Nm of torque more in comparison with the road car. All the output is being sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed sequential transmission with an AP Racing clutch. It also features a limited slip differential. The new Renault Clio RS is also equipped with 17-inch Speed-line Corse racing alloys, a high performance braking system that features 320 mm AP Racing front discs and 4-piston calipers. The list continues with one-way adjustable dampers from ZF-Sachs with specific aluminum wishbones. Inside we will find a full roll cage, bucket seats, but also a complete data acquisition system found into the TFT full color dash display.

The Renault Clio Cup UK has a 22 years experience. The new Clio Cup race car is a step forward which will please everyone. The car will race in the Clio Eurocup next year, so the ones interested will have the possibility to see it before its British debut in 2014. This is all we know so far on the matter.
