Volkswagen Beetle

Not long ago, German carmaker Volkswagen released the new Beetle on the British market. The options for the UK customers included a 1.2-liter TFSI engine capable of developing 104 horsepower mated to a 7-speed DSG transmission and a 1.4-liter TSI engine capable of producing 158 horsepower. This last one sends the power to the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Now, the carmaker is moving forward with offering two new engine choices. To be more precise, we are talking about a 2.0-liter TDI turbo diesel capable of developing 138 horsepower and also a top-of-the-range 2.0-liter TSI turbocharged petrol able of producing 197 horsepower.

Both engines transfer the power to the wheels through a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed dual clutch DSG transmission. The second one, the TSI enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 7.5 seconds and to reach a top speed of 139 mph. The TDI on the other hand needs 9.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph and it enables the car to reach a top speed of only 123 mph. in the case of the petrol model the combined fuel economy reaches a 38.2 mpg UK level and a CO2 emission level of 172 g/km. The diesel one has a 57.6 mpg fuel economy and 129 g/km CO2 emission.

The Volkswagen Beetle 2.0-liter TDI is available from GBP 20.085 and it comes in mid-level Design or Sport trim. The TSI 200 PS has a starting price of GBP 22.295 and it is available in Sport or special-edition Turbo Black and Turbo Silver specification. The 2.0-liter TSI Beetles come equipped with a four-link rear suspension, red brake calipers, a rear diffuser with the same color as the body and twin chrome exhaust pipes.
