2013 BMW 4-Series Coupe by Hamann review and pictures
The German tuning company Hamann Motorsport is a quite well known name in the car field. It was originally founded just to work on vehicles made in Germany, specifically BMW. Since its birth in 1986 they extended on many car brands. Still, they remain fond of BMW branded vehicles and the latest project coming from them is based on the BMW 4-Series Coupe.
The BMW 4-Series Coupe project is the first one developed by Hamann on this BMW model. It concerns mostly on upgrading the engine’s capacities. Most of the vehicles in the 4-Series Coupe suffer power upgrades. The BMW 420d/420d xDrive’s power increases from 184 HP (135 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) to 216 HP and 440 Nm (324 lb-ft). The 430d goes from 258 HP (190 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) to 295 HP (217 kW) and 605 Nm (446 lb-ft). The 435d xDrive version increases output from 313 HP (230 kW) and 630 Nm (464 lb-ft) to 355 HP (260 kW) and 695 Nm (512 lb-ft). The BMW 420i/420i xDrive TwinPower raises from 184 HP (135 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) to 208 HP (153 kW) and 315 Nm (232 lb-ft). The 428i/428i xDrive TwinPower gets from 245 HP (180 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) to 272 HP (200 kW) to 392 Nm (289 lb-ft). Finally, the 435i/435i xDrive TwinPower manages to output from 306 HP (225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) to 348 HP (256 kW) and 449 Nm (331 lb-ft).
The power boosts are the specialty of Hamann for this project started from the BMW 4-Series Coupe. Besides these, the tuner also offers two wheel designs and accessories such as aluminum pedals and footrests. The cars can also be equipped with two types of lowering suspension kits, one that brings the vehicle closer to the ground by 20 mm and the other one increasing ride height by 30mm.
