In case you are interested to know, a crossover version of the Fiat 500L minivan is now available for orders in the UK. The model is caller Trekking and it has a starting price of GBP17.095 on the road for the one equipped with a 1.4-liter petrol unit capable of generating 94 horsepower. The other engine option is a 1.6-liter MultiJet diesel capable of producing 104 horsepower. The price for this one was established to start at GBP19.550. If you think the options stop here, well, you could not be more wrong. There are another two engine variants for buyers. One of them is a 0.9-liter turbo 2-cylinder petrol unit capable of generating 104 horsepower and the second one is a 1.3-liter MultiJet diesel capable of generating 84 horsepower. This last one is actually the only model in the range to be offered with an optional automated Dualogic transmission in addition to the standard manual transmission.
The difference between this new version of the model and the previous one is actually a 13 mm raised suspension, but of course, this is not all. the new model also has different 17-inch alloy wheels with Mud and Snow tires and a cosmetic package that includes front and rear bumpers, side skirts and moldings, air intakes, standard fog lights and skid-plate. The front wheel drive configuration of the car was kept the same and now, the Trekking adds the so-called Traction + system that is claimed to improve traction over harsh and slippery terrain. How? It simulates the behavior of a self-locking electromechanical differential.
As standard, the model comes with a 5-inch touch screen radio with Bluetooth, six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, cruise control, leather gear knob and steering wheel, automatic dual zone climate control, rear parking sensors, electric windows, rear armrest and a lot more. These are all the info on the new model for now.
