2013 Hennessey Venom GT2 review and pictures
We already know the 2013 Hennessey Venom GT2. We all know the power it is capable of offering if needed. Even so, it seems that the carmaker will increase the output reaching in the end up to 1.500 horsepower. This is not all, of course. The carmaker will also provide some new and inciting modifications in terms of body design.
The previous model, the 2012 Venom GT receives power from a twin-turbo aluminum V8 engine capable of generating 1.200 horsepower. According to the manufacturer, the new 2013 model year will receive power from a 7.0-liter twin-turbo V8 that has as output 1.500 horsepower. All this power will be then transferred to the wheels through either a 6-speed Ricardo manual transmission or through a new 7-speed paddle shift transmission, to be more precise. Unfortunately, the performance figures have not been revealed yet, but the new 2013 Hennessey Venom GT2 should be a bit faster due to its better power to weight ratio. For the ones that do not know yet, the 2012 Venom GT weighs 1.220 kg and it is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 2.2 seconds. It can also reach a top speed of 272 mph.
The engineers have offered a carbon fiber body just like until now and an active rear wing that offers extra down force. Hennessey specialists will also do different modifications like for example the doors will receive a new design with dihedral hinges. The rood will also offer additional headroom. The thing that will get your attention refers to the Lotus headlamp that will be replaced with a more original design. At the front of the car, we will also see an exposed carbon fiber front air damn section, new side mirrors and a new hood that does not have the center arch anymore. The specialists did a really good job with the new 2013 Venom GT2.
