2013 KIA Niro Concept at the Frankfurt Motor show review and pictures

Kia has developed the new Niro urban-lifestyle concept which has been unveiled at the 2013 edition of the Motor Show which now takes place in Frankfurt. The new model is the perfect combination between mischievous character and a robust character and stylish body shape. The model brings 4x4-image to the smaller B-segment. It has compact dimensions on an all-new platform that will form the basis of future B-segment products developed by KIA. It has two-tone exterior look which is enhanced by its wheel-at-each-corner stance, but in the urban battleground. In terms of exterior appearance, you can see that signature tiger-nose grille outline, front and rear towing hooks, bonnet-located air outlet and other different elements which are being highlighted in anodized Limelight aluminum.
The outline of the model is very assertive thanks to a low cabin glasshouse and angled front valance. The front look of the Niro is being enhanced by an ice-cube light arrangement that offers dip and main beam lights, strip daytime running lights around the edge of the lighting housing. At the back, the model there is a functional tailgate. Part of the rear light cluster swings up as an essential element of the hatch architecture so that is capable of offering good light and visibility into the cargo space. To transfer all the output to the road, the engineers have equipped the new model with special tires that measure 225 / 40 R20 mounted on milled aluminum 20-inch 5-spoke wheels.
Under the hood it hides a 1.6-liter Gamma engine capable of generating 160 PS. To send them to the wheels, the specialists have offered a 7-speed, dual-clutch transmission that serves the front wheels. There is also an electric-hybrid system powered from regenerative braking for the rear wheels.
