This last Saturday we had the opportunity to see some leaked photos of the new 2013 version of the Kia pro_ceed GT. Now, the carmaker is offering us some more, plus some fresh new details. This model and the ceed GT will both have their debut at the 2013 edition of the Motor Show held in Geneva.
These models are actually the most performance-focused production cars of the brand ever and we will all have the opportunity to meet them on the 5th of March, so very soon. The 2013 Kia pro_ceed GT and the ceed GT are being designed under the direction of Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer and feature athletic styling, distinctive LED daytime running lights, Recaro seating, dual-exhaust pipes, eye-catching
red brake calipers and to transfer the output to the road, the engineers have offered 18-inch alloy wheels. Both models receive power from a new turbocharged 1.6-liter GDI petrol engine capable of generating 204 PS and 265 Nm of torque. The output is being sent to the front wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. This actually allows both models to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
According to the carmaker, the production process of the newest members of the latest generation ceed family is scheduled to begin sometime at the middle of May, this year, in Slovakia. The 2013 Kia pro_ceed GT might be available for sale starting the middle of the year in the UK at least. The other one, the 2013 Kia ceed GT will join the first one, but only towards the end of this year. Unfortunately there are no specifications available and the prices will also be revealed at a later date. This is all we have to say for now on the matter.
