Opel Astra

For those of you who do not know yet, Opel has offered a 1.6-liter SIDI Turbo gasoline engine to their Opel Astra. This new generation engine replaces the previous 1.6-turbo and it is capable of generating 280 Nm of torque. This is 12 % more torque than its closest competitors from the compact class with 150-180 horsepower output. The fuel consumption only reaches 5.9 liters per 100 km. The new engine that powers the Astra requires up to 14 % less gasoline than their predecessor. The five-door Astra, the sedan and Sports Tourer 1.6-liter SIDI Turbo comes with next-generation, 6-speed manual transmissions that have as highlights high shifting comfort and lower friction. Another option would be to combine it with the new 1.6-liter SIDI Turbo unit in the Astra models. To provide manual shifting for a sportier driving experience, the unit comes with an Active Select function. In case you are interested in owning one Astra 1.6-liter SIDI Turbo, you can order it now for a starting price of EUR23.385. The Astra Tourer that has some of the same features comes with a starting price of EUR24.485.

The 4-door sedan will be available this fall for order. The new engine is capable of combining great refinement and a smooth power delivery with lower fuel consumption. It develops 22 % more torque than the previous engine and it reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by 14 %, decreasing the impact on the environment. The 5-door Opel Astra is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 220 km/h. The Astra Sports Tourer can accelerate from 80 to 120 km/h in 9.0 seconds and from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds. To achieve low overall levels of radiated noise and vibration, engineers have optimized the induction and exhaust systems.
