One car enthusiast and specialist, Michael Harley was at the wheels of the Porsche Cayenne Diesel and has decided to share with us his experience. The testing session took place in Alaska and at the end, our Michael was sure this version of the Porsche Diesel is capable of providing mountain-topping 4x4. Under the hood it hides a 4.2-liter bi-turbo V8 diesel engine that according to the mad, will not let us down. Apparently it is capable of generating more horsepower and torque in comparison to the standard Porsche Cayenne Diesel. The S version is up by 137 horsepower and up by 221 lb. ft. of torque. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds or maybe a bit less. The carmaker has established a starting price of $71.500 which is 25 % more than the previous model.
The interior of the new car is more robust and has a finely crafted cabin and for sure you will not see anything extra or unnecessary. From the outside we can see that the three-quarter view is the best angle on the Cayenne. The taillight design of this generation actually stands in the way of the rear three-quarter view. The Diesel engine is capable of generating 377 horsepower and 627 lb. ft. of torque and the rev limit is no limitation at all. To transfer the output to the wheels, the engineers have equipped the Porsche Cayenne Diesel with an 8-speed Tiptronic S transmission and the Porsche Management chassis. In terms of fuel consumption, the new SUV is capable of reaching 25 mpg. The carmaker has decided to start delivering this model towards the European markets before we reach 2013. According to the carmaker, Russia is one of its biggest markets. Source: autoblog
