Toyota FT 86 Open Concept

Toyota reveals the FT-86 Open Concept , just a week before it is supposed to be presented in Geneva Motor Show.

Toyota will present its new FT-86 Open concept as a car created to test the water for the possible introduction of a convertible version of its globally acclaimed GT86 sports coupe. The concept has been designed to deliver the lively, highly engaging and accessible performance and dynamic abilities of the electrically- operated soft top. To quote Toyota, it is said that the car will set a "feeling of oneness with nature while maintaining the joy and sense of oneness with the vehicle."

The concept which is about to be presented in the show has a special pure bright white and navy blue colour scheme. The bodywork is finished in white, contrasting with the blue of the roof. Inside, the perforated white leather upholstery is layered over a navy blue backing, with golden yellow accent stitching and carpets. It is also equipped with alloy pedals, metallic accents and the infotainment system has been replaced by a small audio head unit.

Toyota avoided to give many performance details about the FT- 86 concept. However, the supposition is that the model will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine that develops 200 HP (147 kW) and 205 Nm (151 lb-ft) of torque. All the details will be discovered in a few days, in Geneva.
