Volvo designs and sells products and services which have as a target the high quality, safety and environmental care. Founded more than 80 years ago, a solid position and reputation in the whole world has been built up step by step in time. And today we find the company in the middle of the hybrid stage in the history of automobiles, trying not only to face competition but to be among the best in the field. This is the reason why a new Volvo Coupe Concept is planned to be introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The Volvo Coupe Concept is part of a series of three concepts, which are all going to illustrate the new design language of Volvo. The concept will serve as a preview for the 2014 XC90. The powering source for the vehicle is a 2.0-liter turbocharged and supercharged internal combustion petrol engine, named the Drive-E. This works linked to an electric motor and together they generate 400 hp and 600 Nm of torque.
The Volvo Coupe Concept has some features that make it special. First of all, it has longer and lower bonnet and roof line. Then, it rides on a set of 5-spoke, 21-inch alloy wheels. It also comes equipped with T-shaped LED daytime running lights. There are some retro elements borrowed from the ‘60s P1800. Luxury is what defines the interior of the vehicle, since there is a leather instrument panel with wood inserts and some crystal elements. On the whole, the concept seems a great opportunity for Volvo to consolidate its position in the field and once the production model comes out, it will certainly charm the future clients.
