2013 Volvo V40 Pirelli edition by Heico Sportiv review and pictures
Heico Sportiv and Pirelli join hands one more time and with the Pirelli’s jubilee celebration they present the tuned model Volvo V40. The German Volvo tuner company and the Italian tire brand partnership started in 2009. Since then they set a special cooperation and the new Volvo V40 Pirelli is their last output.
For the 50 years anniversary of Pirelli in Germany they heavily modified the standard Volvo V40. Now the new version has a 37 kW power increase of its 1.6 liter turbo engine. The old 110 kW (150 hp) are updated to 147 kW (200 hp) while torque went up from 240 Nm to 300 Nm. With all these technological additions the Volvo V40 runs from stand to 100 km/h in just 7.9 seconds that is much better compared to 8.8 seconds of the series version. The top speed also increased from 130 mph (210 km/h) to 143 mph (230 km/h). The best part is that the speedpack provided by the German-Italian team is not changing the manufacturer’s guarantee that stays valid for 60 months. Stability and road traction in both dry and wet weather is assured by the new 8x19 inch Volution VII wheel set that is using 235/35R19 Pirelli P Zeros tires.
The exterior appearance has been modified too. The suspension has been lowered by 30mm while the bodykit got a bi-part front spoiler and diffuser like rear skirt. The front spoiler is made of flexible, lightweight polyure-thane plastic and it is mounted on the original bumper. The side red decorative strip emphasizes the body line of the tuned Volvo V40. Inside, the gear shift, the sport steering wheel and hand brake handle are all colored in red and contrasts with the rest of the black elements.
