The competition between car manufacturers is becoming harsher day by day. And this only does challenges of the tuning companies become more exciting. And Germany is the country that has it all when it comes to automobiles and car components. Here, everyone tries to be the best. It is the only way to survive in the battle. K.MAN, also known as Chiptrick is trying to keep up with the other tuning companies. Their last project is a three-stage power boost for the Audi R8.
The most powerful version of a standard Audi R8 develops 570 PS (419 kW). However, like most tuners, K.MAN believes that more power can be squeezed from the engine. The tuner increases the potential of the V10 5.2-liter engine by launching a base GTK stage lifting output to 590 PS (434 kW). It's followed by a mid-range GTK S at 640 PS (471 kW) and the mighty GTK RS packing as much as 750 PS (552 kW). These power additions were obtained by installing a Garrett twin-turbo system and there are also some weight savings prepared as the GTK has lost 40 kg (88 lbs) compared to a stock V10 R8.
After passing through the K.MAN program, the Audi R8 will be able to do the 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) sprint in 11.9 seconds. The GTK S is 0.5 seconds quicker while the range-topping GTK RS will only need 10.6 seconds. All three stages come with a Bilstein clubsport chassis frame and for the GTK RS there's also a beefier braking system to match the added power. Besides the power boost, the tuner can offer carbon fiber or fiberglass body parts and a bespoke cross-x pipe exhaust system with valve control. All of these come with a two-year warranty.
