The BMW 3-Series-based D3 Bi-Turbo has been introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle is powered by a six-cylinder, 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel which generates 350 bhp (257 kW) and a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft (700 Nm). To get these figures, Alpina equipped the vehicle with a bigger intercooler, optimizing the air intake, with a stainless steel sports exhaust system and an exhaust manifold. The engine is linked to a modified 8-speed automatic gearbox and the car can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds before reaching a top speed of 172 mph (278 km/h). The correct sum for the sedan version is 46,950 GBP and for the estate variant is 49,950 GBP.
The BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo is equipped with all kinds of goodies. It features an Adaptive M Sport Suspension, leather upholstery, bi-xenon headlights, climate control and electrically-adjustable heated sport seats. Other things worth mentioning are the luxury carpet overmats, a few Alpina logos on the door sills and seat backs, the Alpina Blue instruments and a Lavalina hand-stitched leather-wrapped steering wheel. The vehicle rides on the special Alpina 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. The vehicle is a true masterpiece and anyone will be proud to own it.
