The Chevrolet Corvette is a sports car by the Chevrolet division of General Motors (GM) that has been produced in seven generations. The first model, a convertible, was designed by Harley Earl and introduced at the GM Motorama in 1953 as a concept show car. Myron Scott is credited for naming the car after the type of small, maneuverable warship called a corvette. Well, this exact model, in its seventh generation configuration has been the aim of a new upgrading package developed by Callaway, the tuning name that is keen on providing driving enthusiasts with maximum satisfaction.
The Callaway Chevrolet Corvette was first said to have an output from the V8 6.2-liter engine of 620 bhp (462 kW) and "at least" 600 lb-ft (812 Nm) via an Eaton supercharger. Now, the final numbers provided by the tuning company reveal that the car is more powerful than originally believed as it churns out 627 bhp (468 kW) at 6,400 rpm and 610 lb-ft (826 Nm) of torque at 4,400 rpm.
The package introduced by Callaway for the Chevrolet Corvette includes the already mentioned supercharger which comes equipped with a new intake manifold, a modified intercooler with three liquid-to-air cooling elements and it also protrudes through the hood in order to aid cooling. The pricing of the package begins at 22,995 USD, and this, of course, without the vehicle. Too much or a fair price? You do the math.
