The Chevrolet Silverado and its mechanically identical twin, the GMC Sierra is a series of full-size pickup trucks manufactured by General Motors and introduced in 1998 as the successor to the long-running Chevrolet C/K line. The Silverado name was taken from a trim level previously used on its predecessor, the Chevrolet C/K pickup trucks and Suburbans from 1975 through 1999 and it turned out to be a lucky name, as the truck is very appreciated. The latest news coming from the producer is the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Rally Editions.
The Rally 2 Edition package for 2015 Chevrolet Silverado LT pickups means a body-colored grille with a black bowtie, a set of 22-inch black alloy wheels, black tubular side steps and black mirror caps and door handles. And the two black Rally stripes on the hood and tailgate come to complete the picture of a true rally car. The vehicle also receives a hitch and automatic locking rear differential, 10-way power driver seat, dual-zone climate control, remote start, backup camera and rear defroster. There is also eight-inch Chevy MyLink radio that features built-in Wi-Fi hotspot with 4G LTE connectivity.
The 2015 Chevrolet Silverado Rally Editions are powered by a 4.3-Liter EcoTec3 V-6 engine generating 285 horsepower (210 kW) and 413 Nm (305 lb-ft) of torque. The V-6 can also switch to four-cylinder mode which will provide better fuel efficiency under light-load driving of up to 24 mpg. Chevrolet is also offering the 5.3L Ecotec3 V-8 unit, which develops 355 horsepower (261 kW), and offers the great fuel economy of 23 mpg (highway).
The package for LT Silverados on the other hand, consist of a body-colored grill with a black bowtie, black door handles and mirror caps, stripes and 17-inch aluminum wheels. There is also included the trailering package. For the LS models, the Rally 1 Edition package contains of a body-colored grille with black bowtie, black door handles and mirror caps and two black rally stripes. Chevrolet will start taking orders for the double-cab Rally Editions from 4th of September, while the crew cabs will be available for order in October. So hurry to enter the list!
