2014 Lexus IS F review and pictures
Lexus released new information regarding the 2014 Lexus IS F. The vehicle is based on the previous second generation IS platform but brings plenty of new features such as a carbon fiber light weight rear spoiler and LED fog lights.
The auto is powered by a high performance V8 Lexus 5.0 liter engine that outputs 416 bhp (310 kW) and 371 lb-ft (502 Nm) peak torque. The aluminium V8 engine is mated to an eight speed Sport Direct Shift automatic transmission together enabling the vehicle to get from 0 to 100 Km/ h (0-60 mph) in 4.6 seconds and to reach a maximum speed of 273 Km/ h (170 mph). In order to obtain an optimized driving experience, the 2014 IS F was tested both on Circuit Paul Ricard in France and Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack.
The car rides on wheels designed to fit its 170 mph track capability. The tires were designed in collaboration with Bridgestone and Michelin. The rear wheels are 19 X 9.5 inch and the front wheels are 19 X 8.5 inch. As a high performance vehicle, the 2014 IS F features a Brembo brake system for a safer driving experience. To further the idea of a safe drive in a powerful auto, the traction and braking performance is enhanced by the Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management system (VDIM). The system enables identification of a potential hazardous driving situation. Once the danger is identified, the VDIM system corrects it using a mixture of steering, braking and throttle control.
Optionally, the Lexus IS F can be fitted with a 14 speaker Mark Levinson Audio System, a rear backup camera, an Intuitive Park Assist (IPA) system as well as HD radio with iTunes tagging.
