Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series update

It seems that German carmaker Mercedes-Benz finally revealed the 2914 SLS AMG Black Series, a model that will go on sale next year in June. As we all know the rest of the Black Series are capable of offering great power, less weight and of course, improved aerodynamics.

The new model receives power from a 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of generating 622 horsepower and 634 Nm of torque. The standard version of the SLS AMG GT was capable of generating 583 horsepower and 648 Nm of torque. Thanks to the fact that the engineers have reduced the weight of the car and the power was increased, the engine enables the model to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.6 seconds and to reach a top speed of 196 mph. The new supercar is capable of a fuel consumption of 20.6 mpg and the CO2 emission level reaches 321 g/km.

Apparently, in terms of design, the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series received some new elements from the GT3 version. We are talking about 20 mm and 24 mm wider front and rear tracks. It sends the power to the road through 20-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels that come together with standard ceramic brakes. Moving on, we can see the front splitter, side skirts and a larger rear diffuser which are all made of carbon fiber. The Germans also provide an optional carbon fiber aero pack for the ones that really want more. This includes an adjustable rear wing and front dive planes. These are supposed to create more down force and improved stability at high speeds. The list of features continues with new electronic locking differential and a carbon fiber drive shaft, but it also includes launch control and adaptive sports suspension. Unfortunately, there is no official information on the pricing, but the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series might cost more than GBP200.000.
