2014 Volkswagen Golf R by ABT review and pictures

The Volkswagen Golf is no ordinary vehicle. It is the best sold Volkswagen branded vehicle. Neither is ABT Sportsline a common name in the auto field. It is one of the best tuning companies when it comes to engine technology, aerodynamics, sports wheels, exhaust systems, suspension or brakes. Well, when the two names meet, a great project comes out to light, and this time we are talking about the Volkswagen Golf R powered by ABT.
Although Volkswagen Golf R has plenty of resources that make it a powerful vehicle, ABT found some extra ones. So this is how the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine received a "sport-type catalytic converter" and a new ABT Power S control unit. Due to these changes, the engine produces 400 PS (294 kW) and 480 Nm of torque which is an increase of 100 PS (73 kW) and 100 Nm (73 Nm). ABT did not offer detailed specifications but they stated that the model has a maximum speed in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph).
The Volkswagen Golf R can also be equipped with an updated grille, aerodynamic side skirts and 18- to 20-inch alloy wheels. Other worth mentioning options include an adjustable suspension and ABT-branded floor mats, as well as integrated entrance light. So, if you are a Golf R owner and you need a faster vehicle, ABT is the name that can make your dream come true.
