2014 Volvo V40 T5 HPC by Heico Sportiv review and pictures

The top class select tuner for the Volvo brand, Heico Sportiv, has been working lately on developing the tuned Volvo V40 T5 HPC. After a teaser picture that has just been revealed a short while ago, the modified model is finally revealed. With a partnership started in 1972 the independent tuner company put the Swedish brand out-of-the-ordinary and offered individualism, personality, uniqueness and character for all Volvo tuned versions.
The Volvo V40 T5 HPC is powered by the same five-cylinder, 2.5-liter turbocharged engine we find on the Volvo V40 Cross Country model. Heico Sportiv brought along some goodies to increase the figures related to the engine. There are worth mentioning a new exhaust system, turbocharger, charge air system and a last generation intercooler. And all these updated elements increase the engine’s output from 254 HP (187 kW) to 320 HP (235 kW) and the torque from 360 Nm (265 lb-ft) to 510 Nm (376 lb-ft). As a cherry on top of a cake, the V40 HPC can develop a maximum of 350 HP (257 kW) when the water- ethanol injection system is activated. With this system on the run, the vehicle can go from stand to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.6 seconds and it can reach a maximum speed of 164 mph (265 km/h).
Heico Sportiv also worked on the aerodynamics of the Volvo V40 T5 HPC, lowering its body with 30 mm with the help of a new sports suspension. The car sits on a set of 19-inch alloy wheels wearing 235/35 R19 tires that are stopped by a six-piston sport brake system with 370mm perforated discs. The car’s body is made of lightweight, polyurethane plastic and painted in a matte toxic green shade with some lateral black decorative stripes. Inside the cabin there are Recaro body-hugging sport seats, a sport steering wheel with fixed paddle shifters, Alcantara-wrapped handbrake and gearshift, aluminum pedals and green stitching.
The future plans of Heico Sportiv don’ t include a production model yet. However, in open battle with the German competition represented by the Audi S3 Sportback and Mercedes A45 AMG, the Volvo V40 T5 HPC promises to be a rough opponent. The Volvo V40 T5 HPC will be produced to satisfy even the most demanding manufacturer standards and the client’s wishes.
