Opel specialists have a lot of talents and most of them have a lot of success among people with different tastes. Recently we had the opportunity to meet their new Opel Adam with Swing Top and Easytronic 3.0. Opel has increasde the options for transmissions and offers the Easytronic 3.0, the automated transmission technology, which helps reduce consumptions and emissions by approximately 8%. The model with Swing Top canvas roof is based on the Adam Jam configuration which allows the passengers to enjoy a log look at the sky in only 5 seconds as this is how long it takes for the roof to retract at a press of a button even at speeds that are close to 140 km/h. Just so you know, the roof is acoustically tuned for good noise insulation inside the cabin.
The starting price for the model was agreed to start at EUR14.990 including VAT in Germany. The automated gearbox combines the advantages of a comfortable automatic transmission with the increased efficiency of a manual one. The carmaker promises faster response times, resulting in gear changes that are unrivalled by any other automated transmission when it comes to speed and smoothness, but feel free to give us some examples and prove us wrong.
Under the hood it hides a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated engine which cuts the fuel consumption by 0.4 liters per 100 km. The Easytronic element is available as an option for the price of EUR600, which, we must admit, it is quite alright. In the photo gallery you will find more details on how the model looks like.
