Ssangyong Motor Company is the fourth largest South Korea-based automobile manufacturer. The name SsangYong means double dragons and according to it, we would say the company should have some impressive products. As a matter of fact, it still fights to attract fans. Mostly focused on big vehicles, the Ssangyong seems to be a specialist in creating concepts. Despite the fact that in time it has revealed plenty of concept cars very few of them have reached production version. The South-Korean company has just introduced another concept at the Seoul Motor Show, called the Ssangyong XAV.
The Ssangyong XAV is a compact SUV concept which mainly targets the persons who are attracted to an old school boxy and angular shape. The company states that the vehicle is equipped with an e-4WD system combining a traditional1.6-liter engine, an electric motor and lithium-ion batteries. This setup should offer "powerful performance and superior efficiency."
The Ssangyong XAV concept is in fact a convertible because it features a canvas loop and is distinguished by an electronic air suspension while the wheels have been shod in run-flat rubbers. The SUV concept also gets a smart motion control system which will modify the suspension and other characteristics based on the road conditions. Now it just remains to be seen if this concept will somehow materialize into a production model.
