Subaru WRX STI

Subaru, the automobile manufacturing division on the Japanese company Fuji Heavy Industries, is famous worldwide mostly for using the boxer engine layout in most of its vehicles above 1500 cc and also for the use of all wheel drive train layout which have become the standard equipment for the Subaru cars. The company is currently showcasing at the Detroit Auto Show the 2015 Subaru WRX STI.

The 2015 Subaru WRX STI is powered by a 4-cylinder 2.5-liter turbocharged boxer engine which develops 305 bhp (227 kW) at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 290 lb-ft (393 Nm) available at 4,000 rpm. This is linked only to an updated 6-speed manual gearbox which provides power to the firm's symmetrical all-wheel drive system with a multi-mode driver-controlled center mechanical differential. The WRX sits on 18-inch alloy wheels shod in 245/40 R18 summer performance tyres and is also equipped with an inverted-strut front suspension promising to bring improved handling. The vehicle also features a bold body kit with a massive rear wing.

The 2015 Subaru WRX STI will come out as a limited edition. One thousand units will be manufactured and they will all be wearing the traditional WR Blue paint and gold BBS forged alloy wheels as well as a bespoke cabin with an STI short-throw shifter among other extra new elements. The Launch Edition will be available from April until June. The price is yet unknown.
