Saab will be launching in 2008 at the Detroit Auto Show the 9-4X, a midsized crossover sharing platform with a Cadillac SUV. The new crossover model will be the same size with the BMW X3 reaching showrooms in two years.
Both Saab and Cadillac will have a new twin-turbo, 2.9-litre, V6 diesel engine developed with VM Motori, which is a major factor for the brands` success. The engine will be also for Cadillac’s CTS and for the next generation of Saab 9-5.
Saab`s boss reported: `Although they will benefit from shared architecture, the Saab and Cadillac will be two very different vehicles in terms of looks and driving dynamics with no chance of brand confusion.
