Bugatti thinking of a Veyron replacement
As the vast majority of you know, last week we presented to you information regarding the newest project of the Italian automaker, Bugatti. Bugatti is working on a four door coupe concept that will most likely be named Bordeaux. The production version of the Bugatti Bordeaux will have some amazing competition in its segment. To be more precise, Bugatti will be trying to get a slice of the market segment that is dominated now by cars like the Mercedes CLS , the BMW 5-Series GT or the Porsche Panamera . Also, the British automaker Aston Martin is set to release a competitor for this segment soon, which will most likely be named Rapide.
Under these circumstances, today a report claims that Bugatti is looking for a model that will replace the famous Veyron. The same report says that the Bordeaux is just one out of three options that Bugatti take into consideration for the replacement of the Veyron. This comes as a surprise because the concept of the Bordeaux has been hinted by rumors to be presented publicly next month during the Frankfurt Auto Show. Still, according to the report that has surfaced today, it seems that it is not certain whether the Bordeaux will actually be presented at Frankfurt and quite unlikely at this point that the Bordeaux will go into production. Bugatti has officially stated that the next Bugatti model will certainly not be based on the recently presented Bentley Mulsanne. Dr. Franz-Josef Pfaegen, the boss of Bugatti, has stated that ``A Bugatti saloon will have different dimensions and be a completely different concept. In fact it`s hard to find any similarities at all (with the new Bentley)``. He continued by saying that ``A Bugatti is designed and developed for a total volume of not more than 150, so that allows completely different materials and technology``. We will just have to wait until September to see whether Bugatti will or will not publicly present the Bordeaux concept at Frankfurt.
