Inspired by the racing siblings that take part in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, the Kia Forte Koup Type R Concept model made its debut at this week’s SEMA show, revealing some interesting performance upgrades, limited to a set of BBS RG 18-inch forged aluminum alloy wheels, suspension and tires components inspired from races, a short throw gearshift as well as a dampened composite fiber disc clutch.
This beautiful concept was built under the close supervising of Kia’s racing partner, Kinetic Motorsports, who also developed and built the campaigns for the Forte Koup race cars.
As far as the styling front is concerned, a dramatic looking gray color is used to complete the Koup Type R, one that comes with a widened body kit including front fenders, rocker panels and also rear quarter panels.
The interior was neglected, this where the designers revealed their skills by using custom dressed seats, door panels and a new gear shift knob together with carbon inlays.
