Back in 2004 we had the opportunity to see the new Mazda3 on the compact car market. It came just right equipped with competent handling, performance and incredible styling. In comparison to its competitors, the model was a really breath of fresh air. Nowadays, the carmaker is getting ready to present the 3rd generation Mazda3, which will happen a bit later this year. In the gallery below you can see the new 2013 Mazda3 rendered using visual clues from the Zebra-coated prototypes spotted at some point. We have to admit it looks really good and despite the dynamically aggressive appearance, the new car looks more mature in comparison to the current model found on the market. The carmaker continues to apply the Kodo design language which is in fact a styling genre previewed by the CX-5 crossover and by the sedan version of the Mazda6. Customers that do not like clowns will be really pleased to know that the carmaker dropped the controversial smiling grill and came up with another friendly alternative.
The engineers have also borrowed the chrome-framed grill and headlights from the Mazda6, but its proportions modify improving the overall aspect. The new 2013 model comes with prominent rear haunches which help increase visual stance. If you remember, which I am sure you do, the rear quarter windows behind the rear doors of the 1st and 2nd generation versions have now disappeared. The view from the back is a lot similar to the CX-5 and not to the Mazda6. We expect to see a car with a higher quality interior because even if the cabin styling of the current car carries certain flair, it looses its value because of furnishing with hard plastics and questionable material choices.
The model will receive power from a SkyActiv-G 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine that will send all the output through a 6-speed automatic or manual transmission to the front wheels. Source: carscoop.blogspot
