The interior of the Porsche Macan has been revealed
Porsche carmaker was very active in the luxury mid-size crossover segment by introducing the two generation of the Cayenne, but now, the German specialists have bigger plans. They also want customers in the compact section of the premium segment and to get them, they are introducing the future Porsche Macan. In the photo gallery you can see what we are talking about. The spy photos are not very clear because of the camouflage, but still is something. The model was spotted during some tests on German roads. At a close look, you will see the interior and the exterior of course, that remind you of a Cayenne, but a smaller one and yes, we have to agree. Because of the plastic camouflage it is a bit hard to really tell what is what and so the details of the front and rear ends are hard to see. The more obvious elements different from the Cayenne and we are not talking about the more compact dimensions, will be the sleeker-looking glasshouse that has a more angled rear window. Inside, the model has the same dashboard layouts and details like the Cayenne. To be more precise, we are talking about the large screen on the center console which has around it chrome-trimmed and vertical stacked air-vents, but which also contains button-filled lower center console.
The MQB modular platform is being used again with the new Macan and it was also used with the new Volkswagen Mk7, the Audi A3 hatchback and sedan, and also with the Skoda Octavia Mk3. this same platform will be used with the next generations of crossovers, including the replacement of the Audi Q5. According to the carmaker, the new Porsche Macan will be very easy to handle.
These are all the details released by Porsche so far and we expect to see the new Macan for the first time and in an official way before the end of this year, or maybe at the beginning of the next one. The engines available might include naturally aspirated and turbocharged V6 gasoline and V6 turbo diesels, depending on the market and a bit later other 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol and diesel units will make an appearance.
