Audi A1 e-tron gets updated

For Audi, the car producer from Germany, sustainability is their most important goal in order to continue economically, protect the environment and guarantee a bright future for the future generations. The four rings brand is one of the top and, at the same time, one of the most famous car producers in the world. They’ve got a large variety of vehicles. The Audi e-tron family is a series of electric and hybrid concept cars shown by Audi from 2009 onwards. The company has recently come up with an updated Audi A1 e-tron.

The new Audi A1 e-tron takes its resources from an electric motor that develops 115 HP (85 kW) and 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) of torque. This means that the car’s capacity increases with 13 HP (10 kW) and 60 Nm (44 lb-ft).  This allows the A1 to sprint from 0-100 km/h in 9.8 seconds and to reach an electronically-limited top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph). The electric motor functions with the help of a 13.3 kWh lithium-ion battery which offers the car the chance to have a 50 km (31 miles) ride on electricity alone. When the battery is low, a 34 HP (25 kW) rotary engine-generator comes into action to recharge the battery. All these allow the model to get an overall range of 250 km (155 miles).

The updated Audi A1 e-tron is currently being submitted to various tests. The company aims at producing 80 models. The car will very possibly be equipped with an Intelligent Charging system that will help the drivers to find a close by charging station and to monitor the charging status of the vehicle from distance via a smart phone. Compact, agile, extremely economical and with zero local emissions, the Audi A1 e-tron represents a new, smart form of urban mobility.
