Future Maserati GranTurismo under development
Officially Alfieri Maserati was founded on 1 December 1914 in Bologna, Italy. Since then, Maserati has played a consistently important role in the history of sports car culture and its development. Nearly a century of activity has brought with it glorious achievements both on the road and the track as well as more challenging times, which have helped forge the company’s character and personality. Some of the most famous models are the Ghibli and Quattroporte. However, Maserati is planning to continue its success with a few new models. The Alfieri has already been green-lighted for production, a Levante crossover idea keeps rising and here they are talking about a new generation GranTursimo.
The next generation Maserati GranTurismo is planned to enter sales by the end of 2017. It will be available only as a coupe. This means that the GranCabrio enters stand by, without receiving a new model. However, the empty space will certainly be filled by the expected Alfieri. The Italian officials declare that the GranTurismo of the future will be more compact than bigger, it will be available only with a rear-wheel drive with a twin-turbo V8 3.8-liter producing over 550 bhp (410 kW). So Maserati fans have to be proud of their favourite brand.
