Subaru Impreza WRX STi 2005

The 2005 Subaru Impreza WRX STi was long waited by its enthusiasts and its debut at the North American International Auto Show received a positive feedback as the high performance all-wheel drive sedan provides great levels of acceleration, handling and braking performance. Serving as the performance flagship of the Subaru line, it will earn distinction as the most powerful Subaru sold in North America and it is going to hit the car markets this summer. The car model was designed to reach the serious driving enthusiasts and it was based on motorsports technology, being powered by an intercooled and turbocharged 2.5-liter DOHC boxer engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission and exclusive to the North American market, producing an output of 300 HP at 6,000 rpm and 300 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,000 rpm. A complex Subaru All-Wheel drive System transfers power to the wheels, optimizing performance under all road circumstances. The DCCD (Driver Control Center Differential) system allows the driver to vary the front-to-rear torque distribution for different driving conditions. The Subaru Impreza WRX STi boasts a new design which improves the air resistance, the lift force balance and maximizes engine cooling, providing a more dynamic look. The stability at high speed is improved by the functional dual element rear spoiler, which was borrowed directly from the Subaru World Rally Car. The large diameter Brembo brakes are visible between the 17-inch lightweight aluminum wheels and the front fascia with four high-intensity discharge headlmaps, add to the distinctive look of the car. The active safety features comprise front seat head/chest side impact air bags, dual front airbags and three-point seatbelts.
